Spotlight on Impact: Plastic People at Hot Docs Industry Conference

We’re thrilled to give a huge shoutout to our powerhouse Impact Producer, Sholeh Alemi Fabbri, founder of Good Measure Productions, who recently presented at this year’s Hot Docs Industry Conference!
Sholeh took the stage as part of the conference’s “HOT TAKES” series—fast-paced, insight-packed panels designed to deliver actionable industry knowledge. Her session focused on documentary Plastic People: The Hidden Crisis of Microplastics and the work behind our ongoing Impact Campaign, which has been raising awareness about microplastic pollution and its effects on human health. Some of those results can be found in a previous post.
We may be a little biased, but Sholeh did a phenomenal job showcasing how the documentary has catalyzed global conversations, sparked grassroots actions, and influenced public understanding of this urgent issue.
Although our campaign is still going strong, you can already explore the tangible outcomes from our first year in the Impact Report—found on the film’s website.
We also want to celebrate the rest of our incredible Impact team, pictured in the photo above (left to right): Kat Anielak, Sholeh Alemi Fabbri and Emma Badame. We were also honored to have Plastic People Executive Producer Peter Raymont and Telus Originals Christina Willings in attendance.
