We’re thrilled to share that the founder of Good Measure Productions was one of just two Canadians selected to take part in the impACT Lab 2025 at the Cannes Film Festival — a unique and prestigious opportunity that brings together some of the world’s most promising and visionary emerging producers.

Organized annually as part of the Marché du Film, the impACT Lab gathers forward-thinking experts and rising producers from around the world for an intensive series of workshops, group sessions, and one-on-one mentorship. The goal? To foster meaningful international co-production opportunities and equip producers to create socially impactful, globally resonant films.

The lab promotes core values that are deeply aligned with our mission at Good Measure Productions: diversity, inclusion, representation, sustainability, and equity. Over several days in Cannes, participants explored critical topics ranging from sustainable production practices to creative producing for impact.

Each day featured dynamic two-hour workshops led by inspiring mentors like filmmaker and showrunner Avril Speaks, Danielle Turkov and Amy Shepard from Think-Film Impact Production, and Ludovica Chiarini, CEO of Ecomuvi. Their insights and passion left a lasting mark on every participant, sparking conversations that we’re excited to continue long after Cannes.

This year’s cohort brought together brilliant producers from across the globe — including Uganda, Lebanon, Germany, Italy, Norway, and Canada — creating space for cross-cultural exchange, artistic collaboration, and new friendships. Special shoutout to our fellow Canadian participant Kathy-Ann Thomas, whose presence helped make the experience even more special.

We extend a heartfelt thank you to Telefilm Canada and Marché du Film for making this unforgettable opportunity possible. To be immersed in such a rich, creative environment — with a shared commitment to storytelling that drives change — was both energizing and affirming.

The work is just beginning, and we’re excited to take what we learned at the impACT Lab and infuse it into everything we do going forward.
