Earth Day, Plastic People & the UN in Ottawa

by sholeh | Apr 21, 2024

When you’re working on a film about human health issues and microplastics and the UN brings the plastic treaty negotiations (INC4) to the nation’s capital you look to maximize that opportunity! Here are just some of the things we did for the impact campaign for INC4 in Ottawa:

? Seeded postcards that can be planted and become wildflowers were handed out via our walking - and dancing ?- billboards!

?️ We surprised the hundreds of delegates invited to the private screening with a special message from @thejeffbridges via our impact partners @plasticpollutes. The crowd cheered when he came on screen to deliver his message about plastics.

? Couldn’t have done it without our volunteers. Big shout out to the students from a local school that were keen to get involved and make a difference.

? Invited superstar MCs @bababrinkman and @feelingdizzy.wav to live rap the film and panel. I’d never seen it done quite like that but the audience loved it.

? Local mural artist @falldown.g was inspired by the film and created a canvas series on the street (thank you sun gods for cooperating). People came by all Earth Day afternoon to check it out.

?️ The Plastic People posters were all mounted on wood instead of regular foam core as we tried to be as sustainable as possible. We also had night time projections around the downtown core letting people know the film is coming soon to theatres!
